A beech forest growing over an ancient lava flow from the Croscat volcano, in the heart of the Garrotxa Volcanic Area Natural Park. A place where nature shows itself both serene and powerful, as if it had learned to speak in silence.
Its canopy is constant. It embraces you from the very first moment, making you feel small before the towering trees, but never insignificant. It is a presence that accompanies you. The light, instead of flooding in all at once, filters delicately through the branches, casting shifting patterns on the ground and creating an atmosphere that invites you to walk slowly, without haste.
The forest’s colours change with the seasons. In spring, everything is green and damp; in summer, the shade protects from the sun; in autumn, the palette bursts into reds, ochres, and yellows; and in winter, silence covers everything like a veil. But there is always that natural heartbeat that accompanies your steps: a slow, gentle, almost hypnotic rhythm.
From the ground, the Fageda seems infinite. But if one day you decide to see it from the air, the perspective changes. Thanks to Vol de Coloms, you can rise in a hot air balloon and watch the forest stretch out like a living carpet, draped over the ancient skin of the volcanoes. A serene and surprising vision that allows you to grasp the greatness of the landscape from a different angle.
The Fageda d’en Jordà is not just a forest. It is a place where everything becomes simpler, where nature teaches you to look differently, to breathe more deeply, to listen without hurry.
