Tossa de Mar
Hidden between the sea and the forest
Nestled between the sea and the forest, it is surrounded by a canopy of trees that rise like a protective wall, infused with the scent of pine and salty breeze, creating a haven of tranquillity and beauty. From its viewpoints, the gaze stretches as far as Sant Feliu de Guíxols, tracing a coastline that alternates between rugged cliffs and secret inlets, as if nature were playing at creating mysteries.
But it is within its walled enclosure that Tossa reveals its deepest soul. Its ancient stones bear the imprint of centuries, tales of fishermen, old merchants, and travellers enchanted by its magic. Walking through its narrow streets is like listening to the murmur of time, a whisper that carries you from the past to the serene contemplation of the sea.
With its majestic towers and labyrinthine layout, the Vila Vella seems to stand watch over the sea, gazing out from its heights as if awaiting a response. And below, Platja Gran stretches out like a golden canvas, a place where the deep blue of the water merges with the sky and where each wave arrives with the softness of a caress.
In Tossa, every element appears arranged with natural precision, as if the scene had been crafted to be admired, to be remembered. It is no wonder that cinema made it an icon, that artists found in it the perfect muse, that travellers become spellbound, as if time no longer belonged to them.
For in Tossa, between the sea and the forest, the world stands still. And all that remains is beauty, the salty air and the eternal sound of the waves.
