Gola del Ter
When two worlds meet
The Ter River, after flowing through valleys, plains, and silences, gently yields to the salty waters in an embrace with no limits. On the horizon, the sea roars, vast and infinite, like an old friend awaiting the arrival of a weary traveller. Close by, the river, calm and unhurried, seems to breathe in relief after its long journey.
Between these two waters, the world seems to reinvent itself. Fresh water and salt water blend unhurriedly, creating shifting hues that change with the light and movements orchestrated only by nature. It is a place of opposites that attract, of tensions and harmonies that coexist. At night, the moon is reflected in the serene waters of the river, while the sea murmurs secrets that seem to come from beyond time. By day, the sun rises over the salty water, setting the horizon ablaze with golden strokes, and bids farewell over the fresh water, painting it with the colours of a melancholic goodbye.
At the Gola del Ter, there is a stillness that invites you to listen, a tranquillity that settles within you. The wind carries the scent of the sea, mingled with that of damp earth. Birds rise, tracing circles in the sky, as if dancing in tribute to this union of waters and horizons. It is a place where one can feel the power of nature, but also its serenity.
Here, the river surrenders to the sea, and you surrender to the moment. And in that surrender, you understand that the beauty of this river does not lie in its end, but in the miracle of its constant beginning.
